As a college student, after I read Andrew Sullivan’s article about why he blog, I totally can understand why blog is so popular on the internet and why so many people love blogging. In Andrew ‘s article he statement the point that blog is a really good literary mode for people to state their own opinions, the biggest reason is that we don’t need to care about the subjects which we are writing about in our blog, it could be the personal view of Global news, the call into questions about historical issues or even if the new discovery of the academic researches, so the topic is really open and what people need to do is just explicitly express their view. Blog is subjective. I totally agree with his this point of view.And also Andrew pointed out that another big reason that people choose blog is that blog is an web log. It is like a big community, from reading other people’s blog, we have the sense that we moving backward in time as we move forward in pages.So people talk about things happened before and have new understandings.People have no pressure while they blog, people talk together like a chat program, this is really important, the form is open and totally different from essay and other academic papers. I like writing blog and state my opinions.
Yes, blogs are subjective, and that's a good observation. I would add that most writing is subjective and that blogs are better than most at acknowledging or making apparent their subjectivity.
